What is cardiovascular disease?

Cardiovascular diseases claim 18.6 million lives each year

Cardiovascular disease is a class of diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels (veins and arteries). They are usually caused by fatty deposits that build up inside the arteries and result in an increased risk of blood clots, but can also be linked to damage in the arteries of organs like the brain, heart, kidneys and eyes. Strokes can be caused by bleeding from a blood vessel in the brain or from blood clots.

Diseases we treat

There are many different types of cardiovascular disease. Here are some of the most common ones.

1. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD):

*The most common type of CVD.

*Occurs when the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle become narrowed or blocked due to plaque buildup (atherosclerosis).

*Can lead to angina (chest pain) or heart attacks.

2.Hypertension (High Blood Pressure):

*A condition where the force of the blood against the artery walls is consistently too high.

*Often called the “silent killer” because it may not cause symptoms but can lead to heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems.

3.Stroke:

*Occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients.

*Can be caused by a blocked artery (ischemic stroke) or a leaking or bursting blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke).

4.Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD):

*A condition where the arteries that supply blood to the limbs (usually the legs) become narrowed or blocked.

*Can cause pain, numbness, and, in severe cases, lead to amputation.

External Counter Pulsation (ECP) Therapy is a clinically approved non-invasive procedure for the treatment of refractory angina (chest pain) and heart failure.Read more

Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic have been implicated in the development of heart disease for decades. These toxic metals can substitute essential metals like iron and copper in the body, leading to impaired cell function. Heavy metals promote inflammation, free radical damage, and oxidative stress, which contribute to endothelial dysfunction—the initial stage of heart disease.Read more
