An autoimmune disease is a condition in which the immune system turns against the body and starts attacking normal tissues mistaking them for a foreign agent. Normally, the immune system can tell the difference between foreign agents and our own cells but in the case of an autoimmune disease, this distinguishing ability is lost causing the immune system to attack our own body.
Common Autoimmune Diseases
There are over 80 different autoimmune diseases, each affecting different parts of the body. Some of the most common include:
1.Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA):
Affects the joints, causing inflammation, pain, and eventually joint damage. The immune system attacks the lining of the joints, leading to chronic inflammation.
2.Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE):
A systemic autoimmune disease that can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. Lupus is characterized by periods of flare-ups and remissions.
3.Type 1 Diabetes:
The immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, leading to high blood sugar levels and the need for insulin replacement therapy.
4.Multiple Sclerosis (MS):
The immune system attacks the protective covering (myelin) of nerve fibers in the central nervous system, leading to communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body.
5.Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis:
The immune system attacks the thyroid gland, leading to hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), which can cause fatigue, weight gain, and other symptoms.
6.Graves’ Disease:
An autoimmune disorder that causes hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) by stimulating the thyroid to produce too much hormone.
7.Psoriasis:
An autoimmune skin condition that leads to the rapid turnover of skin cells, causing thick, red, scaly patches on the skin.
8.Celiac Disease:
The immune system reacts to gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, causing damage to the small intestine lining.
9.Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD):
Includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, where the immune system attacks the lining of the digestive tract, leading to chronic inflammation.
10.Sjogren’s Syndrome:
The immune system targets the glands that produce moisture, leading to dry eyes, dry mouth, and other symptoms.
Symptoms of autoimmune diseases vary widely depending on the specific disease and the organs or tissues affected. However, common symptoms include:
*Fatigue
*Joint pain and swelling
*Skin rashes
*Digestive issues
*Recurrent fevers
*Swollen glands
*Muscle pain and weakness

Studies have shown that oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and cancer are closely linked, with Vitamin C emerging as a potent antioxidant capable of scavenging a wide variety of free radicals and reducing oxidative stress.Read more
Oxidation is a normal process that occurs during respiration. Oxidative stress, on the other hand, occurs when there is an imbalance between free radicals and anti-oxidants in our body.Read more
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth, supporting the immune system, brain, and nervous system, and regulating insulin levels.Read more
Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic have been implicated in the development of heart disease for decades. These toxic metals can substitute essential metals like iron and copper in the body, leading to impaired cell function.Read more

Hydrogen therapy, often referred to as molecular hydrogen therapy, involves using hydrogen gas (H2) for its potential therapeutic benefits. Molecular hydrogen is a small, non-toxic gas that can easily diffuse across cell membranes, potentially offering various health benefits due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic (preventing cell death) properties.Read more
